Input to the YESS Standard for Fabric Mills and Changes to the YESS Standard for Spinning Mills

RSN performed a public consultation of our new YESS Standard for Fabric Mills: Weaving & Knitting Operations Only after the 2021-2022 YESS Pilot was conducted and prior to finalizing the standard. RSN received feedback from 17 organizations including international apparel, home goods, and footwear brands and retailers; yarn and fabric manufacturers; multi-stakeholder initiatives, and civil society organizations. Comments were used to 1) revise the standard, 2) provide guidance, or 3) were not incorporated because they were beyond the scope or not applicable.

Version 1.0 of the YESS Standard for Spinning Mills (previously named YESS Cotton Standard and YESS Standard for Spinners) was first published in 2019 after undergoing a feasibility assessment and public consultation.

For Version 2.0, adjustments were made to the YESS Standard for Spinning Mills as insights and feedback were obtained through the development of the YESS Standard for Fabric Mills and the associated 2021-2022 YESS Pilot. Additional changes were made to streamline, align, and simplify the two standards, assessment workbooks, and supporting documents, to the greatest extent possible.
